Sakina Bawa holds a Bachelor's degree in Agronomic Sciences and is currently a student at the Abdou Moumouni University in Niamey, where she is completing two Master's degrees, the first in Forestry and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources (at the Faculty of Agronomy) and the second in Sustainable Rural Transformation and Climate Change (WASCAL Programme at the Faculty of Science and Technology).  In addition to these academic trainings, she has also benefited from several short-term specialised trainings on environment and climate change related topics.

In particular, she coordinated the project "Entrepreneurship and empowerment of young Nigeriens facing unemployment in the context of COVID 19" financed by Plan International in the context of the YOUTH CHALLENGE FUND 2020. She also contributed to the implementation of the project on training of young people in the communication of sustainable development objectives in local languages in the regions of Maradi, Dosso and Tillaberi. Sakina has participated in many fora at both national and international levels, including the agriprofocus forum on youth entrepreneurship in Niger and the financing of young entrepreneurs' projects, the African Union's international forum (AGENDA 2063) on the theme "Youth engagement for climate as a means to achieve the SDGs" and the 5th edition of the national youth forum on climate change and sustainable development.
