Statistics indicate that just 9% of African youth have access to tertiary education, whereas the global average stands at 38%. In Rwanda, the gross enrollment rate for higher education is 7%. Concurrently, there is a significant demand for graduates from technical schools in the country. The main barrier to accessing quality education is the lack of financial resources. Traditional financial institutions perceive the youth segment as risky, making it crucial to create a financial tool that enables youth to pursue education now and repay later. The Chancen model prioritizes future earnings over the current financial status of youth.
