
Chantal Tombu
Director and Curator | Espace Texaf Bilembo
Born in Katanga, director and curator of the Espace Texaf Bilembo, with a degree in art history and archaeology from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Chantal Tombu acquired her professional experience successively at the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels and at the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren, then as assistant director for the J. Bastien Art Gallery in Brussels. . For the past twenty years, she has been coaching and publishing on visual artists, first in Lubumbashi, then in Kinshasa. The publication SOS Planète Congo, Contes de la forêt et de Dame La Lune pour les Bana Congo et leurs parents is the first book dedicated to environmental and cultural education in DRC. It has been translated into Lingala, Swahili and Kikongo, in the form of a school textbook, and has given rise to a series of educational workshops and games on the roots of Congolese identity, the environment, biodiversity and the promotion of a new sedentary agriculture and green jobs.
