Strategies to facilitate girls’ participation in transition activities

Beyond the access to and completion of TVET programmes, it is also very important for girls to participate in transition activities leading to the labour market and decent work opportunities.

In terms of factors and/or actors which influence or impede girls’ participation in transition activities and their access to decent work, some examples are: representation of women in decision-making (political level); availability of decent internships for girls/women and strategies and policies regarding sexual harassment (level of schools and service providers), etc.

To address these and other barriers, different strategies have been identified to facilitate girls’ participation in transition activities towards decent work:
