As a programme of VVOB - education for development  and its French-speaking counterpart APEFE, attaches great importance to your privacy. Most information on or through this website, is available without having to provide your personal details. However, a request for personal details may occur. In those instances, your details are processed in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the law of 11 December 1998 regarding the protection of privacy in the processing of personal details.

This means that VVOB:

  • process your personal data only for the purposes for which you gave your consent, or for which VVOB has another legal basis;
  • asks for your explicit consent if we need it to use your data;
  • does not transfer personal data to other parties, unless this is necessary to achieve the purpose for which you gave it to us.

Personal details that can be processed
VVOB can process personal details about you when you make use of VVOB vzw’s services and/or when you provide your personal details in a contact form on the website:

  • Sending newsletters, announcements and publications
  • Filling out registration and evaluation forms
  • Answering a question via the contact form, telephone or e-mail

VVOB can process the following personal details:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your address details
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your IP-address

VVOB uses the collected data only for the purposes for which we have permission.

Through cookies, VVOB's website tracks information about visitors. We do this to compile reliable statistics and to improve the functioning of the website.

Mapping your website visits
VVOB’s websites store general visitor data, including the IP-address of your computer, the time of visit, and data sent by your browser. These details are used for the analysis of user behaviour on the website (visits and clicks). VVOB vzw uses this information to improve the efficiency of the website. These details are anonymised as much as possible and are not passed on to third parties.

Third parties
VVOB only passes on your personal details to third parties if this is required for the effectuation of an agreement with you, or to comply with legal obligations.

We use a third-party provider for:

  • web hosting
  • providing IT infrastructure
  • building, managing and maintaining our website
  • sending newsletters and announcements (Mailchimp)
  • analysing anonymous and aggregated user data for website optimisation (Google Analytics).

VVOB never passes on personal data to parties with whom we have not signed a processing agreement. VVOB will make the necessary agreements with those parties to ensure the security of your personal data.

Google Analytics
VVOB uses Google Analytics to track how visitors use the website and how effective the Adwords adverts of VVOB are on Google’s search result pages. The received information, including your computer’s address (IP-address), is transferred to servers in the United States and stored by Google. Read Google’s privacy policy for more information. Google uses this information to track how our website is used. This way, they can draw up reports for VVOB about the website and offer information to advertisers about the effectiveness of their campaigns.

Google can pass on this information to third parties when legally obliged to do so, or insofar these third parties process the data on behalf of Google. VVOB has no influence on this.

VVOB does not give Google permission to use Analytics information from our website for other Google services.

Looking into, adapting or deleting personal details
