Global Partnership for Education launches 'Answer the Call' during International Day of Education

To mark the International Day of Education, Educaid.be proudly joined forces with the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) for a pivotal breakfast roundtable held at the GPE offices in Brussels. This event was not just a celebration of education, but brought together key stakeholders, policymakers, and experts to tackle the critical issue of global education and to discuss how Belgium can take a more active role in ensuring that inclusive, quality education reaches every child.

A call to Action: Launching the “Answer the Call” Campaign

One of the most significant highlights of the event was the official launch of GPE’s “Answer the Call” campaign. This powerful initiative brings attention to the urgent need for action in addressing the education crisis affecting millions of children around the world.

The campaign serves as a rallying cry for governments, organisations, and individuals to step up and support education as a basic human right. As a supporting partner, Educaid.be is proud to amplify this message and is excited to continue advocating for the cause of inclusive, quality education for all.

Strengthening Belgium’s Role in Global Education

The roundtable discussions were both thought-provoking and urgent, offering fresh perspectives on how Belgium can play a stronger role in addressing the global education crisis. From focusing on education in fragile contexts to exploring the importance of international development efforts, the conversation emphasised that education must remain a priority on the global agenda.

We were particularly encouraged by the insights shared on how Belgium’s development cooperation can help ensure that children in conflict zones or other vulnerable settings are not left behind.

Another standout moment was Handicap International/Humanity & Inclusion’s launch of a new factsheet focusing on adolescent girls with disabilities. The factsheet highlights the challenges adolescent girls with disabilities face in staying in school and the actions needed to support them.
