Line Kuppens
Assistant Professor of Conflict Studies at the Governance and Inclusive Development Programme Group (GID) of the University of Amsterdam
Line Kuppens is Assistant Professor of Conflict Studies at the Governance and Inclusive Development Programme Group (GID) of the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on the role of education in promoting reconciliation and peace in divided and post-conflict societies. She is the co-author of ‘Teaching about the Violent Past: Opportunities and Challenges for Teachers in Conflict-Affected Societies in Africa’ (with Justin Sheria Nfundiko). Her general research interests include peace education, conflict resolution, and memory studies. Prior to joining GID, Line worked as a post-doctoral researcher at St.-Mary's University, Twickenham, London and the University of Leuven (KU Leuven). She also worked as a senior education advisor for VVOB - education for development. Line holds a PhD in Development Studies and Social Sciences from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) and the University of Antwerp.
