Educaid.be is the Belgian platform for education and development. One of the result areas of educaid.be is to strengthen the knowledge and expertise of its 53 members through webinars and other activities. Through online and/or in person activities, Educaid.be aims to share international expertise related to education and training in development cooperation with the platform's members and other interested parties.  

As a part of the Educaid.be Project Group ‘Digitisation for Education’ (D4E), Impala Bridge and D4D Access will present their projects and share experiences on digitisation for development during this third Connect&Learn session. 

Background Impala DigiLib

Impala DigiLib is an innovative digital library, managed by Impala Bridge, that operates on solar energy and incorporates a Wi-Fi terminal, enabling schools in rural areas to share data even during internet and electricity disruptions. This project is an adaptation of the widely recognised NAS (Network Attached Storage) servers, to the school environment. Impala DigiLib potential applications can extend beyond education and be utilised in other remote areas sectors with limited infrastructure where data collection has become increasingly crucial, such as healthcare, public administration...

Background D4D Access

Launched in 2022, D4D Access is a knowledge platform that centralises, promotes, and disseminates African and European good practices and lessons on Digital for Development (D4D). Covering a wide range of topics, from e-governance to digital entrepreneurship, D4D Access contains many useful resources to support digital stakeholders in Africa and Europe – including public institutions, donors, academia, companies, and civil society organisations – to advance an inclusive and sustainable digital transformation.

D4D Access is managed by the AU-EU D4D Hub project as part of its objective to facilitate exchanges of experiences, skills, and expertise between Africa and Europe.
