Sustainable development is considered the best way to address the vast and complex relationship between human development and environment.

Essentially sustainability is about values, about the world we want to live in and the kind of world we want to leave as a legacy for further generations. In this respect, as UNESCO stipulates, sustainability cannot be achieved by technological solutions, political regulation or financial instruments alone. “We need to change the way we think and act”. This requires quality education and learning for sustainable development at all levels and in all social contexts.

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is about enabling us to constructively and creatively address present and future global challenges and create more sustainable and resilient societies.

Therefore, the Education & Environment project group of Educaid.be organised a one-day seminar on 11 October 2016 for Educaid.be members, in close collaboration with KLIMOS, the inter-university research platform on integrating environmental sustainability in development cooperation.
