Phidias Mufan Mufanzara is a Congolese expert in child protection, education in emergency situations and humanitarian project management, with over 20 years’ experience in the humanitarian and development sectors in Switzerland, the Central African Republic, Belgium, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Great Lakes region.
He holds a Master’s degree in project management and specialises in child protection, peacebuilding, psychosocial support (MHPSS) and the empowerment of women and young people.
He has held senior positions, notably as Programme Director at SAPI Belgium (2023–2026), where he was responsible for strategic programme coordination, managing institutional partnerships, project monitoring and team capacity building, particularly in PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse).
He is currently working on integrated programmes combining child protection, emergency education and mental health, with a particular focus on children affected by armed conflict in eastern DRC for a period of six months. He is based in eastern DRC
