Humanity & Inclusion (Handicap International in French) is an international solidarity organisation that works alongside disabled and vulnerable people in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. HI has been working for over 35 years to meet their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

The organisation has its headquarters shared between Lyon, France, and Brussels, Belgium. It is currently active in some 60 countries, with over 300 projects in emergency, reconstruction, chronic crisis and development contexts.

HI is involved in a wide range of sectors, including basic needs, camp coordination and management, reconstruction, disaster preparedness and risk reduction, conventional weapons, rehabilitation, accessibility, local development, economic and social integration, education and TVET, advocacy and the defence of the rights of people with disabilities.

HI has been working on inclusive education and vocational training for people with disabilities since 1998. Our work focuses on children and young people with disabilities, who are among the most vulnerable and excluded in the world. It aims to create an inclusive learning environment, focusing on three levels: direct support to disabled children/youth and their families, improved educational, social-health and economic services, and development of more inclusive education policies.
