Youth Delegate COP27 - Burkina Faso

Nia Sidonie Christiane Ouattara, a young Burkinabè woman and youth association leader, holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering Management from the University of Energy and Natural Resources Sunyani/Ghana, and a Bachelor's degree in Water, Hygiene and Sanitation from the Aube Nouvel University in Ouagadougou/Burkina Faso. Her Master's research, the results of which were used to prepare a publicly defended thesis, focused on "Technical and social analysis of biogas production from sewage sludge and faecal sludge associated with organic waste such as slaughterhouse waste and fruit and vegetable waste for energy production in Bobo Dioulasso/Burkina Faso".

In addition to her academic qualifications, Nia Sidonie is responsible for the environment and sustainable development component of the African Youth Initiative for Development (AYID) and a member of the World Youth Parliament for Water. With the support of the International Secretariat for Water, in 2018 she had to conduct projects in the context of WASH, such as " Water star " for the communities of the city of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. 

Nia Sidonie Christiane is also an alumni of the YALI Regional Leadership Center for West Africa, based in Accra, Ghana.
