Hanh Lê Thi Bích has been working for more than ten years in the area of early childhood development, including providing support to community/family, upgrading preschool and health services, as well as other related issues on development project management, behavior change communication (BCC), and advocacy.

As Education Program Manager at Plan International in Vietnam, she is responsible of managing the program reaching out to more than hundred communities in 9 provinces of Vietnam, cooperating with development agencies including donors, other INGOs and Government partners working on issues related to the wellbeing of Vietnamese children.  

Currently, Plan Vietnam works in some of the most vulnerable communities with the goal of improving children’s outcomes. In these communities, there remain significant equity and poverty alleviation concerns that justify the need for a development model which proves that vulnerable children can be highly successful in school and life if provided with effective support. There are good reasons to focus on the early childhood years (from birth to eight years) due to their significant influence on later life and because high-quality care in the early years acts as a springboard for success in school. In turn, education provides vulnerable children with a chance to escape poverty, build a more secure future, and realize their potential. For these reasons, and because of its contribution to sustainable development outcomes, Plan has prioritized an early childhood care and development (ECCD) program. Ms Hanh has significantly contributed to developing the ECCD program to be one of the strongest, largest and most innovative programs of Plan Vietnam.
