Katie Wade is Education and Skills Policy Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate‑General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA). Her teacher policy portfolio includes the EUR 100 million Regional Teachers’ Initiative for Africa, which aims to strengthen teacher training, support and career development to improve foundational learning outcomes and build more resilient education systems. She has over ten years’ experience in international cooperation on education, with a focus on basic education, foundational learning and skills development across Sub‑Saharan Africa. She holds an MSc in Humanitarianism, Conflict and Development, with research focused on language education among refugee communities in Jordan.
