Richard HANSON
Senior Education Programmes Adviser, Cambridge Education
Richard Hanson, a former teacher, is a Senior Education Programmes Adviser for Cambridge Education with 25 years of project experience with diverse organisations across Africa and beyond.
He currently supports DFID’s DEEPEN programme to empower Lagos parents and other stakeholders by improving the flow of information about affordable private schools through collaboration with the media and CSOs.
He has similarly supported ‘voice and accountability’ interventions as Lead Specialist for Communications and/or Knowledge Management on other major DFID education programmes in Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania.
In recent years, Richard Hanson has worked as an Adviser on education innovation fund management programmes in Rwanda and Pakistan that have tested and scaled creative solutions to education challenges, including the deployment of digital technologies, and is currently an Adviser to DFID’s Pakistan Education Innovation Fund (aka Ilm Ideas 2).
He is the author of Go Innovate! A Guide to Successful Innovation for Education.
