Missions and activities
As the Brussels Public Employment Service (PES ), Actiris' ambition is to provide, with its partners, tailor-made solutions, effective and free tools, adapted to the specific needs of its clients, leading to quality employment for all.
In the specific socio-demographic context of the Brussels and Capital Region (youth, diversity, long-term unemployment, multilingualism etc.), Actiris also implements the regional policy to promote diversity and combat discrimination in recruitment.
Its actions and resources are concentrated on two strategic and transversal missions:
- Ensure quality support and services for job seekers in their transition to sustainable and quality employment;
- Provide a free offer of services to all employers in their search for collaborators
International level
On the international scene, the main activities deployed by ACTIRIS are as follows:
- The representation and promotion of ACTIRIS within intra- and extra-European networks (within the European network of public employment services, the PES Network, and the global network of public employment services, WAPES).
- Collaboration with Belgian (Ministry, Permanent Representation, Synerjob, Brussels.International, Bruxelles Formation, VDAB-Brussel), European (European Commission, Committee of the Regions) and international institutional actors (ILO, OECD).
- Ensure bilateral relations with foreign PES.
- The conclusion of collaboration/cooperation agreements with cooperation operators (Enabel, Socieux+, APEFE).
- Mutual learning between PES through the identification and capitalization of inspiring practices.
