The Educaid.be team
As part of her visit to Belgium in the context of eNSPIRED, the VVOB programme that creates an international dialogue between teacher trainers (pre- and in-service) in Belgium and their peers in countries in Africa, Asia and South America to stimulate qualitative education, Cleopatra Muma Chona is happy to share her story and expertise within the Educaid.be platform. Cleopatra is currently serving as Executive Director for Zambia Open Community Schools (ZOCS), a pioneer NGO in the education sector in Zambia. She will share her ideas on working education innovations that take parental involvement and community engagement at the center of a child’s education. She has come to a conclusion that if households and communities are well engaged and provide a bedrock for a child’s learning and education, schools become a supplementary resource to support lifelong learning. The ZOCS Community model in the provision of education has been tested and proven over the last three decades as a sustainable way to support education regardless of location, gender and social status.
