Lise Marcelis is project manager for Enabel, where she works specifically on employability and employment issues in the context of Haut-Katanga and Lualaba in the DRC, a region with a very intense employment base but where the rate of access to employment for young Congolese remains very low, due to problems of matching vocational training to jobs and the import of foreign labour.
 
She has been working for over 10 years on measures to help the most vulnerable people into employment, both in Africa (Burundi, by getting people affected by the conflict into work - Guinea, by setting up job training centres and mechanisms to help them find work - DRC) and in Belgium, in the context of public social action centres and socio-professional integration.
