ACTEC is a NGO that supports vocational and technical training projects for poor and marginalized people in developing countries. The aim of the training provided through ACTEC's projects is personal fulfillment, the fight against poverty by increasing family incomes and the improvement of living conditions.

We ensure that our projects integrate three training components:

  • Technical and vocational training: these are specific programs to learn or improve a trade. A concrete result of this training is the ability to secure employment (often in the informal economy) and an increased income.
  • Entrepreneurial training: the majority of poor people in the South have to self-employ because there aren't enough businesses or companies capable of integrating them into the formal economic circuits, which is a component that our projects must consider. Some of our partners have therefore developed specific training courses for micro-entrepreneurs.
  • General and community training: better living conditions do not follow automatically from an increase in income. We also need to offer training to improve habits (hygiene, nutrition, respect for the environment) and social attitudes (solidarity, civic participation, community development).

Our strategy for achieving this objective is to strengthen our partners in the South, who are called upon to support our joint action over the long term.
